Equipment

  • 1 Slow Cooker

Ingredients

  • 32 oz bag of hash browns - Thawed and cubed
  • 16 oz. kielbasa sausage – cut into small pieces
  • 1 small onion diced
  • cup butter – melted
  • – 3 cups shredded cheese optional to use a mix of Monterey Jack and Cheddar
  • 10.5 oz. can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup half and half or whole milk – preferably one of these for best consistency

Instructions

  • Start by spraying the interior sides of the crock pot with cooking spray. This little prep work will save you a lot of time cleaning it up later. If you don't have a can of 'Pam' handy, use olive oil or canola oil and a paper towel to rub the inside of the pot.
  • In the greased crock pot, combine hash browns, kielbasa, onion and 2 cups of the cheese and mix them together. Add any spices, such as cayenne or even onion powder or garlic powder and mix well.
32 oz bag of hash browns - Thawed and cubed, 16 oz. kielbasa sausage – cut into small pieces, 2½ – 3 cups shredded cheese optional to use a mix of Monterey Jack and Cheddar
  • In a separate bowl, combine cream of chicken soup, melted 1/3 cup of butter and milk. Wisk until smooth.
⅓ cup butter – melted, 10.5 oz. can cream of chicken soup, 1 cup half and half or whole milk – preferably one of these for best consistency
  • Pour this mixture over the dry ingredients which are patiently waiting in the slow cooker. Mix well until all ingredients are well coated.
  • Sprinkle the remaining cheese over everything.
2½ – 3 cups shredded cheese optional to use a mix of Monterey Jack and Cheddar
  • Set the cooker to high for 3 hours and get ready to enjoy the cheesy goodness the entire house will appreciate.
