Start by spraying the interior sides of the crock pot with cooking spray. This little prep work will save you a lot of time cleaning it up later. If you don't have a can of 'Pam' handy, use olive oil or canola oil and a paper towel to rub the inside of the pot.
In the greased crock pot, combine hash browns, kielbasa, onion and 2 cups of the cheese and mix them together. Add any spices, such as cayenne or even onion powder or garlic powder and mix well.
32 oz bag of hash browns - Thawed and cubed, 16 oz. kielbasa sausage – cut into small pieces, 2½ – 3 cups shredded cheese optional to use a mix of Monterey Jack and Cheddar
In a separate bowl, combine cream of chicken soup, melted 1/3 cup of butter and milk. Wisk until smooth.
⅓ cup butter – melted, 10.5 oz. can cream of chicken soup, 1 cup half and half or whole milk – preferably one of these for best consistency
Pour this mixture over the dry ingredients which are patiently waiting in the slow cooker. Mix well until all ingredients are well coated.
Sprinkle the remaining cheese over everything.
2½ – 3 cups shredded cheese optional to use a mix of Monterey Jack and Cheddar
Set the cooker to high for 3 hours and get ready to enjoy the cheesy goodness the entire house will appreciate.
